Hi Gwen and welcome to the forum! I'm from Minnesota and getting ready to retire after a long career. More time for finding, buying and tumbling rocks! 😉
I've tumbled some Meeko's Laguna Lace Agate and it's lovely. Takes some patience as it will take several weeks to get it where you want the shape and polish to be but I loved the end product.
We'd love to see your specimens. Send photos!
Hi all! I'm Gwen. I'm mom to 3 grown daughters, and Grandma to 1 amazing granddaughter. I live on the Alabama Gulf coast- about 30 minutes from the beautiful beach. I LOVE the outdoors, travelling, flower gardening, crafting, etc.. One of my favorite past-times is playing with my shelties, Marshall, Teddy and Barney. I also LOVE rocks! :-) Most (pretty much ALL) of my rock collection is either from online purchases or some that I've picked up while vacationing... We just don't seem to have as much pretty or unusual stuff here on the coast... I just placed my first order from WeFossick, so I am sure that I will be asking for some tips as I do my first tumble. :-) ESPECIALLY excited to get the Laguna Lace Agate!
I just got a batch of Bird's Eye Rhyolite from Meeko's Mine and I haven't tumbled rhyolite before. Any advice on how to get the best results? With a Mohs of 6-7 it's in that range that probably needs a little TLC. I have rotary tumblers and a new vibratory that hasn't been used yet.
Any tips appreciated!
Hello check out my cool rock!
